Hotline permudah penjualan buah tandan segar Sabah diwujudkan

KUALA LUMPUR 26/12/2012: Kementerian Perusahaan Perladangan dan Komoditi (MPIC) telah pun melaksanakan beberapa langkah bagi memperkukuhkan harga minyak sawit mentah (Crude Palm Oil –CPO) berikutan penurunan harga sejak bulan September 2012. Ini termasuk mengurangkan duti eksport CPO di antara 4.5 hingga 8.5 peratus dan menggantung pemberian kuota CPO tanpa duti mulai 1 Januari 2013.

Senario penurunan harga CPO telah menyebabkan berlakunya kes-kes dimana kilang-kilang sawit tidak membeli buah tandan segar (Fresh Fruit Bunch – FFB). Perkara ini telah dilaporkan di Sabah dan telah menjejaskan penjualan FFB oleh para pengusaha tanaman sawit terutamanya oleh pekebun kecil.

KUALA TERENGGANU 25/12/2012- Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan (Fama) membeli sebanyak 15 tan metrik buah duku bernilai lebih RM20,000 bagi mengelak lambakan buah-buahan di negeri ini.

Pengarah Fama negeri, Hasan Jusoh berkata selain itu pihaknya juga membeli buah durian yang sedang gugur di negeri ini dalam usaha menambah pendapatan para pekebun tempatan.

"Kita beli buah-buahan ini dari semasa ke semasa bagi memastikan buah-buahan itu tidak mengalami lambakan seperti empat tahun lepas yang menyaksikan sehingga buah tersebut hitam tidak dimakan,"

KOTA KINABALU 24 Dis. - Jumlah pengeluaran hasil durian di Sabah pada masa ini menunjukkan perkembangan memberangsangkan dengan menyaksikan hasil pengeluaran kira-kira 2,790 tan durian setahun.

Timbalan Pengarah Lembaga Pemasaran Pertanian Persekutuan (FAMA) negeri, Mohd. Shukri Doel Majalin berkata, sebanyak 10 daerah dikenal pasti sebagai kawasan pengeluaran hasil durian berpotensi di negeri ini.

"Daerah yang terkenal dengan hasil durian di negeri ini ialah Ranau, Sipitang, Tenom, Sandakan, Tawau, Kota Marudu, Sandakan, Tawau, Beaufort dan Keningau.

Keningau 1/11/2012: Many teachers from the peninsula and Sarawak, who filled the 50 vacancies in Pensiangan to replace those who had been sacked, have not regularly turned up in school.

This is for reasons like car problems, poor road conditions, especially during the rainy season, and no clean water supplies, in spite of it being the norm for locals in the area, said Bingkor Sabah Reform Movement Chairman, Victor Leonardus.

Tenom 19/10/2012: No less than 240 education graduates particularly from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak are still unemployed and waiting for offers to be posted as school teachers in Sabah.

Tenom Umno Youth chief Jamawi Jaafar said his party has voiced out their concern regarding the matter including writing a letter of appeal to the Education Ministry for them to consider giving these graduates opportunities and consideration to be absorbed as teachers, on par with their qualification.

"We asked that the Education Ministry take the initiative so that these graduates be given the opportunity to serve in public schools in the State,"

KOTA KINABALU 11/10/2012: Sepanggar member of parliament Datuk Eric Majimbun accused the federal government of applying a different set of procedures when dealing with Sabah-born Malaysians and foreign-borns registering for birth certificates in the state.

He said the procedures adopted by Kuala Lumpur marginalised and discriminated against the people of Sabah, particularly those in the rural areas where many children do not have birth certificate.

Majimbun further alleged that when these applicants, with the assistance of local community leaders, finally get their documents, the National Registration Department (NRD) would stamp in red ink, the words ‘Late Registration’.

Land and Survey Department Director Datuk Osman Jamal said the limit of the NCR claim has been effected by Section 5, 6(1) and 88 of the Sabah Land Ordinance (SLO), whose meaning many parties have wrongly defined.

Caroline Jitor of SK Terian and Alessandra from SK Togudon both cited having high dreams of becoming a doctor and a teacher respectively, but they are struggling with the two subjects.

KOTA KINABALU 08 September 2012:  FIREMEN rushing to get to a fire scene in Kampung Mokodou, 60km from Ranau, yesterday had to turn back as their vehicle could not pass through a bailey bridge, the only access to the village, as  vehicles weighing five tonnes and above were not allowed to cross it.

With sirens blaring, they drove back to Ranau, got into a four-wheel drive and rushed back to the scene with six firefighters, only to be involved in the grim task of retrieving charred remains of three children in one of the two houses that were razed to the ground.

September 7, 2012: The oil royalty re-negotiations which both Sabah and Sarawak chief ministers have suddenly agreed to would have to take into account history and the actual numbers earned by Petronas and the federal government.

It is vital that the leaders go into these discussions with Putrajaya knowing the true facts of the agreement and the events leading up to how both states were “coerced” into signing the agreements.

If I recall correctly, Sarawak commenced its oil production in the early 1900s. Sabah has been producing oil for 30 years now.

Kota Kinabalu September 07, 2012: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman on Thursday said Sabah Interior showed the highest decrease in poverty, thanks to various poverty eradication programmes that were initiated and implemented by the Government.

Sabah Interior, he said, recorded a 13.2 per cent decrease in poverty from 29 per cent in 2004 to 15.8 per cent in 2009.

"Overall, Sabah's poverty rate went down from 24.2 per cent to 19.7 per cent in the same period," he told reporters after chairing the State Steering Committee meeting on Poverty Eradication Scheme at Wisma Innoprise, here.
