LAHAD DATU 28/03/2013: Pasukan keselamatan memutuskan bahawa Kampung Tanduo yang menjadi lokasi pendaratan kumpulan penceroboh militan Sulu akan ditutup dan tidak lagi menjadi kawasan petempatan penduduk.
Pesuruhjaya Polis Sabah Datuk Hamza Taib berkata semua penduduk kampung itu yang kini menghuni pusat pemindahan sementara akan dipindahkan ke satu lokasi baru yang akan diputuskan kemudian.

KUALA LUMPUR 26/03/2013: The Eastern Sabah Safety Zone (Esszone) to prevent incursions and ensure the security of the state has been formed.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that it comprised 10 districts Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Beluran, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna and Tawau.
The zone, he said, would be administered by the Esszone Committee chaired by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, with its headquarters in Lahad Datu.
“He (Musa) will be assisted by a chief executive officer and other members to be announced later,” he said during the 206th Police Day Celebrations at the Police Training Academy yesterday.
Najib said the formation of the safety zone was in line with the setting up of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), aimed at safeguarding eastern Sabah.
“The establishment of Esszone does not constitute a declaration of emergency. It will not prevent free and democratic elections from taking place in the area involved.”
It is learnt Esscom would act as an authoritative body for the Esszone. For example, any activity, be it social or security efforts in the safety zone, would be coordinated through Esscom.

GE13: May 26 – last day to hold simultaneous polls

BUKIT TINGGI 24/03/2013: May 26 is the latest date whereby simultaneous parliamentary and state elections can be held following the expiry of the Negri Sembilan state legislative assembly on March 26, says Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.
While Parliament's five-year term ends on April 27, several state legislative assemblies will end earlier, with Negri Sembilan the first to expire on March 26.
Polls for state seats in Negri Sembilan must therefore be held within 60 days from that date, said Abdul Aziz.
“We are trying our best to hold polls simultaneously in all states along with Parliamentary polls, which means that I have until May 26 to hold simultaneous polls because Negri Sembilan will expire by then and no state assembly can stretch its term beyond five years,”

KUDAT 23/03/2013: The local Suluk community, who are citizens of the country, have nothing to fear, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
"It is not right to blame the local Suluk community in the state for the Lahad Datu intrusion because it was not done by them but followers of (Jamalul) Kiram," he said when launching the Yayasan Sabah with the Rakyat Roadshow on Saturday.
He pointed out that many of the people in Sabah had family ties with the Suluks.

KUALA LUMPUR 23/03/2013: Penahanan dan pendakwaan terhadap lapan rakyat Filipina berkaitan kes pencerobohan Sabah dibuat berdasarkan perundangan negara, kata Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Ismail Omar.
Beliau berkata, polis mempunyai cukup bukti dan Jabatan Peguam Negara yang berpuas hati dengan kertas siasatan polis mengambil tindakan mendakwa mereka di mahkamah.
Khamis lalu, lapan daripada 108 individu yang ditahan di bawah Akta Kesalahan Keselamatan (Langkah-Langkah Khas) (Sosma) dituduh di Mahkamah Tinggi Tawau di bawah Kanun Keseksaan.
Dua daripada mereka menghadapi tuduhan melancarkan perang terhadap Yang di-Pertuan Agong dan menjadi anggota kumpulan pengganas, empat didakwa menjadi anggota kumpulan pengganas dan dua lagi dituduh cuba melindungi kumpulan pengganas.
Serentak itu Ismail menolak dakwaan Jamalul Kiram bahawa lapan individu terbabit adalah rakyat Malaysia.

LAHAD DATU 22/03/2013: Ketua pengganas Sulu yang menceroboh Sabah sejak 12 Feb lepas, Azzimudie atau Agbimuddin Kiram telah meninggalkan negara ini sejak 11 Mac dan kini bersembunyi di pulau-pulau kecil di selatan Filipina.
Panglima Angkatan Tentera Jen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin berkata perkara itu disahkan hasil risikan pasukan keselamatan yang antara lain mendapati Azzimudie meninggalkan pengikutnya di Sabah lalu menyembunyikan diri dan bergerak dari satu pulau ke pulau lain di selatan Filipina.

MANILA, Philippines 20/03/2013- (UPDATE 3:40PM) A leading opposition party in Malaysia said Agbimuddin Kiram, the crown prince of Sulu who led more than 200 followers to press their claim to Sabah, is a Malaysian citizen and once served as assistant district officer of Kudat, Sabah. The sultanate confirmed he once worked there decades ago, but denied he is a Malaysian citizen.

DAP: A quarter of Sabah parliamentary seats have dubious voters

KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): DAP has warned that over a quarter of Sabah's parliamentary seats, mostly in the state's east coast, have high concentrations of dubious voters.
DAP election strategist Ong Kian Ming told a press conference today seven of Sabah's 25 parliamentary constituencies have more than 10% of voters with "problematic" identification cards.
The seven seats are: Kalabakan (16.3%), Silam (15.2%), Tawau (14.4%), Putatan (11.5%), Semporna (11.3%), Batu Sapi (11.2%) and Libaran (10%).

Followers to wage guerrilla war
MANILA, Philippines 18/03/2013- Followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III are not withdrawing from Sabah, and he has instructed them to conduct guerrilla warfare against Malaysian forces.
Kiram said yesterday the withdrawal of his army led by his brother Agbimuddin from Sabah was not an option.
“They are already in their homeland so why come back?” Kiram told reporters at his residence in Taguig City.
Abraham Idjirani, spokesman for the sultanate, said the struggle in Sabah would continue.
He said the unilateral ceasefire order issued by the sultanate had been lifted and the sultan’s army had been ordered to conduct “hit and run” operations against the Malaysians.
Sabah diceroboh: UMS tubuh pusat kajian keselamatan negara
KOTA KINABALU 13/03/2013- Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) akan menubuhkan sebuah pusat penyelidikan yang berfungsi sebagai pusat rujukan berkaitan hal ehwal negeri Sabah termasuk aspek keselamatan.
Naib Canselor UMS Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Harun Abdullah berkata cadangan penubuhan pusat tersebut tercetus atas keprihatinan UMS terhadap isu-isu semasa seperti insiden pencerobohan pengganas di Lahad Datu dan Semporna.
Katanya pusat yang dinamakan Pusat Kajian Strategik Sabah akan menumpukan skop kajian yang merangkumi sejarah dan kedaulatan negeri Sabah selain aspek perundangan, keselamatan dan hubungan antarabangsa.
MNLF: We respect Sabah's decision to join M'sia
