BEIJING 27/03/2013– The appearance of a Chinese navy flotilla at an island chain 1,120 miles from its home shores is a clear sign that the new Communist regime is moving to enforce its claims to the entire South China Sea, experts said Wednesday.

Ketua Setiausaha Negara Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa ketika mengumumkan pelantikan itu hari ini, berkata Mohammad, 48, berpengalaman dalam bidang pembangunan dan pengurusan sumber manusia, kewangan dan keselamatan.

The new government gazette to manage Sabah’s security strangely enough does not seek to deter intrusion by foreigners, or cleanse Sabah of illegal immigrants.

KOTA KINABALU 29/03/2013: The federal government gazette to manage public security in Sabah’s eastern area could be both a blessing and a curse to Sabahans.

The gazette which is officially called “Preservation of Public Security Regulations 2013” was published on March 24 and contains four objectives, with 19 major regulations under five parts.

While it failed to give details on how it will beef up security against foreign intrusions in Sabah’s east, the gazette did touch on a few major issues that are expected to be potentially controversial.

KOTA KINABALU 28/03/2013: Sulu sultanate spokesman Abraham Idjirani today slammed the Malaysian security forces for restricting the movements of Filipino residents in Sabah to such an extent that these frightened individuals now want to return to the Philippines.

“It is a psy-war by Malaysia to force the Filipinos to leave,” Idjirani said, adding that with the end of the standoff a new reality had emerged for Malaysia.

He said the Sulu sultanate was adamant on its claim for Sabah and this was seen as a threat to Malaysia.

Idjirani said Sabah’s population of 3.2 million included the 1.5 million documented and undocumented Filipinos and the “war” waged between the sultanate’s army and the Malaysian securities forces had “united” the Filipinos.

KOTA KINABALU 26/03/2013- Persatuan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan Kadazandusun Murut Sabah (Pekadin) mahu Kementerian Pelajaran segera mengkaji semula kandungan buku teks sejarah Malaysia yang diajar di sekolah, terutama rentetan sejarah pentadbiran pra-kemerdekaan atau sebelum Sabah dan  Sarawak sama-sama membentuk persekutuan Malaysia.

Timbalan presidennya Nailin Gabintal berkata, terdapat keperluan yang mendesak untuk berbuat demikian ekoran kes pencerobohan pengganas, yang kononnya menuntut hak ke atas Sabah, di Lahad Datu baru-baru ini.

Katanya, buku teks sejarah Malaysia sedia ada lebih fokus kepada sejarah di Semenanjung Malaysia dan hanya sedikit sahaja sejarah mengenai Sabah dan Sarawak.

"Berdasarkan maklum balas dan tinjauan Pekadin, ramai generasi muda dan ada golongan dewasa yang masih 'samar-samar' fakta sejarah sebenar yang ada kaitan dengan kesultanan sulu sebelum Sabah mencapai kemerdekaan menerusi pembentukan negara Malaysia pada 16 September 1963.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — Barisan Nasional’s (BN) hold over Sabah is likely to be cut by the state’s native anger over the Sulu incursion, which they say is the result of the controversial citizenship-for-votes award under “Projek IC” blamed on several ruling coalition politicians.

To the Kadazandusun and Murut (KDM) communities, the largest ethnic category in the BN “fixed deposit state”, the Sulu gunmen’s easy entry into Sabah last month was largely because foreigner infiltration was made so easy for decades by the 1980s initiative.

Under ‘Projek IC’ hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants were given citizenship in exchange for their votes for the ruling coalition in Sabah.They believe the militant group from the Sulu archipelago in the southern Philippines had managed to organise their attacks better as many of their sympathisers and family members were already residing in the Borneo state, thanks to “Projek IC”.

“This is the mother of all problems in Sabah. It has always been the mother of all problems. People know about it. Everyone knows about it,”

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 Mac — Kekuasaan Barisan Nasional (BN) di Sabah mungkin berakhir kerana kemarahan penduduk tempatan berhubung pencerobohan Sulu, yang mereka kata disebabkan oleh pemberian kewarganegaraan sebagai pertukaran kepada undi di bawah “Projek IC” dan menyalahkan beberapa ahli politik gabungan pemerintah itu.

Bagi komuniti Kadazandusun dan Murut (KDM), kategori etnik terbesar di “negeri deposit tetap” BN, pemberontak bersenjata Sulu mudah masuk ke Sabah kerana kebanjiran warga asing telah berlaku berdekad lalu di bawah inisiatif pada tahun 1980an.

Mereka percaya kumpulan militan dari Sulu di selatan Filipina berjaya menyusun serangan kerana ramai simpatisan kumpulan itu dan ahli keluarga sememangnya menetap di negeri Borneo tersebut, disebabkan oleh “Projek IC”.

“Ini adalah ibu kepada semua masalah di Sabah. Ia telah lama menjadi ibu kepada segala masalah. Rakyat tahu tentang itu. Semua orang tahu tentang itu,”

KUALA LUMPUR 26/03/2013: The Eastern Sabah Safety Zone (Esszone) to prevent incursions and ensure the security of the state has been formed.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that it comprised 10 districts Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Beluran, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna and Tawau.

The zone, he said, would be administered by the Esszone Committee chaired by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, with its headquarters in Lahad Datu.

“He (Musa) will be assisted by a chief executive officer and other members to be announced later,” he said during the 206th Police Day Celebrations at the Police Training Academy yesterday.

Najib said the formation of the safety zone was in line with the setting up of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), aimed at safeguarding eastern Sabah.

“The establishment of Esszone does not constitute a declaration of emergency. It will not prevent free and democratic elections from taking place in the area involved.”

It is learnt Esscom would act as an authoritative body for the Esszone. For example, any activity, be it social or security efforts in the safety zone, would be coordinated through Esscom.

KOTA KINABALU 15/03/2013: Many hotels in Sabah are already feeling the negative impact following the foreign armed intrusion in Lahad Datu.

According to Christopher Chan, president of the Sabah Hotel Association (SHA), some hotels have experienced a drop of 30 per cent in their room occupancy beginning early this month.

Many also experienced a drop of between 30 per cent and 40 per cent in their income as government departments were cancelling events that were supposed to take place at the respective hotels, Chan told a press conference at a hotel here yesterday,.

The drop in income due to the drop of foreign arrivals was between 15 per cent and 20 per cent, he said.

Website hotel and tour booking portals have also indicated a drop of more than 20 per cent in online bookings for hotels and tours offered in Sabah, he said.

“It is a worrying figure…The situation is not good despite the claim made by the relevant authorities that tourism is business as usual in Sabah,”

28/12/2012: DAP Sabah is extremely disappointed that Sabah health care welfare continues to be overlooked. Junz Wong, DAP Sabah State Assistant Secretary expressed disappointment at State Health department that they have not resolved the "one radiotherapy machine" issue since DAP Sabah has brought it up one year ago.

Junz disclosed that Ex-Director Dr Mohd Yusof Ibrahim has openly announced, in a newspaper replying to DAP Sabah, that Sabah would have three CT Scan machines by the end of 2012. Two machines would be sent to Likas Hospital while one would be sent to Lahad Datu Hospital.

"Today is 27 Dec and yet Sabah still face the same issue which we have raised a year ago via why there is only one cancer treatment machine in Sabah? Situation has worsened now that Sabahan patients are asked to look for private specialist for treatments!" Junz slammed.

Kota Kinabalu 27/12/2012: Six Philippine nationals were caught trying to leave for Kuala Lumpur by using MyKad belonging to other people on Christmas Day.

State Immigration Director Datuk Mohammad bin Mentek said the three Filipinas and three Filipinos aged between 16 and 35 were detained for committing the offence at Terminal 2 of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) at 2pm.

"The suspects were caught when they produced the identification documents at the Immigration counter before boarding.

"Upon checking, the Immigration Officer realised that the photos on the Mykad are different from the suspects and arrested them on the spot,"

Transport Minister must check KKIA runway – Pairin

KOTA KINABALU 21/12/2012: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha must come to Sabah and personally check the condition of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) runway, said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

The Infrastructure Development Minister said that he concurred with Putatan member of parliament Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh on the need for the Transport Minister to check on the matter as it is an issue of public safety.
