NAZRI: MICHAEL CHIA NEVER ARRESTED IN HK WITH SABAH UMNO CASH

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 ― Putrajaya revealed today that businessman Michael Chia was never caught in Hong Kong holding large sums of Singapore currency as reported, in the latest twist to the saga over a RM40 million political donation for Sabah Umno.

“According to MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), Chia was never arrested in Hong Kong... that is the MACC’s answer.

“And (Hong Kong’s) ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) never caught Michael Chia,”

KOTA KINABALU July 13, 2012: The Federal Government has been urged to investigate and find out the reasons for the shoddy work on the RM565 million Sapulut-Kalabakan road project.

When the project was completed, the 179km road should have been sealed but instead, it was still a gravel road, prompting the Federal Government had to spend another RM270 million to have the stretch sealed, he said.

“What is even more worrying is the rumours that four elected representatives benefited from the contract,” he said when debating the Supplementary Supply Bill at Dewan Negara recently.

MACC URGED TO INVESTIGATE ROAD MAINTENANCE WORK

MACC urged to investigate road maintenance work

TAWAU May 9, 2012: Kalabakan member of parliament Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh has called on the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the road maintenance work between Mile 8, Kalabakan and Kampung Luasong Road.

Ghapur said the road is the responsibility of the Sabah Foundation but seemed to have never been maintained, although a company had been appointed and getting payment for the works involved.

PETALING JAYA: Pelakon Zahida Mohamed Rafik, 37, yang dituduh menerima wang sebanyak RM1.5 juta daripada Menteri Pembangunan Luar Bandar dan Wilayah, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal telah menghantar surat saman kepada Ahli Parlimen Ampang, Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Surat yang dihantar melalui peguam Datuk Seri Shafee Abdullah bertarikh 23 April 2012 itu antara lain menuntut Zuraida yang juga Ketua Wanita Keadilan berhenti membuat kenyataan media, menarik balik kenyataan terdahulu serta memohon maaf dalam masa tujuh hari.

MAN CLAIMS TRIAL FOR CORRUPTION

Man claims trial for corruption

image KOTA KINABALU: A businessman accused of accepting and asking for money as an inducement to help with the issuance of titles to two land applications claimed trial at the special corruption court here today.

Suaidin @ Shuhaiddin Langkab @ Langab, 62, who is also a  politician, pleaded not guilty to the two charges under the  Anti-Corruption Act 1997.

On the first charge, he is alleged to have asked for   RM400,000 from another businessman, Chew Ai Wah, 56, as  payment to an officer at the Lands and Survey department at  the Tang Dynasty Hotel at about 9.30am on Aug 28, 2008.

KUALA LUMPUR April 9, 2012: PKR today demanded that both Foreign Minister Anifah Aman and his brother Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman take leave from their respective posts pending further action on their alleged involvement in a tens of millions of ringgit worth of secret timber concessions and money laundering.

Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail should also be suspended from his duties for his reluctance to bring charges against the two despite a two-year-old Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation which had recommended prosecution.

Malaysia's Foreign Minister, Anifah Aman, is the Sabah Chief Minister's brother.

According to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) documents obtained by Sarawak Report, Malaysia’s Foreign Minister, Anifar Aman, has been the secret beneficiary of lucrative timber licences in Sabah’s dwindling Forest Reserves.

The concessions came thanks to his brother, the local Chief Minister, Musa Aman.

The documents form part of a major investigation by the MACC into timber corruption, after an agent and nominee for Musa Aman, Michael Chia, was caught attempting to smuggle SG$16million out of Hong Kong in 2008.

PUTRAJAYA, 27 Feb (Bernama) -- Ketua Pesuruhjaya Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamad berkata tidak timbul isu keselamatan jika suruhanjaya itu diberi kebenaran untuk mengakses dokumen pengisytiharan harta anggota pentadbiran Persekutuan termasuk anggota Kabinet.

Katanya yang menjadi perhatian SPRM bukan jumlah aset yang ada sebelum mereka menjadi menteri atau timbalan menteri, paling penting ialah ada atau tidak perkembangan pertambahan yang mendadak.

"Kita (SPRM) akur dengan apa yang dilaporkan tetapi yang menjadi perhatian SPRM iaitu sama ada semasa mereka memegang jawatan dalam kerajaan terdapat pertambahan yang besar atau tidak,"

Datuk Peter Anthonyy KOTA KINABALU Feb 4, 2012: A 41-year-old local businessman has admitted that he is the ‘Datuk’ being quizzed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission but he denied the allegations made against him.

Datuk Peter Anthony, the managing director of Asli Jati Sdn Bhd, denied a newspaper report that he was on the run, saying he was in fact giving his full cooperation to the investigators from MACC.

“I am a Datuk, I am 41 years old and the MACC had come to my office according to the news report that said that I was on the run. I am not on the run as reported,” he said.

Sabah duo on the run The Star 2 Feb 2012bKUALA LUMPUR: A 41-year-old Sabah politician, who is a Datuk and an Umno division assistant chief, has fled the state after learning that his office was raided over false claims involving a RM43mil contract for mechanical and electrical maintenance work with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

A department director at the university is also being investigated and his office was raided as well by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.

He is also said to have fled the state.

IPOH: Seorang pegawai Jabatan Perhutanan Perak dikesan menyembunyikan wang tunai lebih RM700,000 disyaki hasil suapan diterimanya di merata lokasi di kediamannya termasuk dalam kain telekung, selain di bilik tidur, ruang tamu dan dapur.

Suspek yang berusia dalam lingkungan 50-an dikatakan turut mengagihkan wang suapan yang keseluruhannya dipercayai melebihi RM4 juta di dalam beberapa akaun bank milik anggota keluarganya, berdasarkan buku bank yang turut ditemui di rumahnya.
