Sabah to get new constituencies next year
Several constituencies in the west coast of the state is to be carved up due to rapid population growth.
Deputy State Speaker Johnny Mositun said he had met several high-ranking Election Commission officers here and in Kuala Lumpur and they had informed him that many constituencies on the west coast of the state would be carved up due to rapid population growth.
“I have been given to understand that Sabah will get some additional constituencies,”
Timbalan Menteri Kesihatan, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin (gambar) berkata, setakat sembilan bulan pertama tahun ini, jumlah kes tibi yang dilaporkan di negeri itu adalah sebanyak 3,275 kes.
Menurut beliau, penularan kes tibi di Sabah dikesan sejak 2005 iaitu sebanyak 3,395, bertambah kepada 3,728 kes (2010) dan terus meningkat kepada 3,794 kes pada 2011.
"Pertambahan kes tibi ini juga disebabkan aktiviti pengesanan kes yang cukup agresif sejak kebelakangan ini,"
Almost half of OCPDs in Sabah are locals
Kota Kinabalu 28/11/2012: Eight of the 20 police districts in Sabah are currently headed by Sabah-born police officers, according to Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Haji Yusop. He said three of them are heading Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau Police Districts each with the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), while the rest are in Keningau, Kinabatangan, Papar, Semporna and Sipitang each with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
In terms of ethnic background, he said two of them are Dusun, while another two Kadazan, two Malays, one Murut and a Bajau.
Sabah MP’s political fate hangs on rural roads
8/11/2012: Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) today urged the Rural and Regional Ministry to build roads in his rural constituency, fearing that his constituents may be swayed by opposition promises to do so if they win.
“The opposition is coming to my constituency and saying that BN has failed to build the roads after 55 years and that they will do so if they win.

According to statistics from the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, only 10.4 per cent of the country’s 222 federal lawmakers and eight per cent of the 576 assemblymen in state assemblies nationwide are women.
