Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said he has informed the State National Registration Department (NRD) to ensure non-citizens are not registered in the exercise to expedite the issuance of identification documents, including late registration birth certificates.
"We have to be very clear on this don't simply issue the birth certificates,"
"I have informed the Director of Registration Department to make sure this is being done carefully, and that no children of illegals, who are non-Malaysians, are registered.
"I have told village chiefs, district officers and the leaders that they have to ensure no approval for documentation to those illegals or non-Malaysians,"
"It happened before but I'm sure there is no more now,"
On whether the State Government would insist that the NRD use the Mobile Courts introduced by Chief Judge for Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Richard Malanjum to verify late birth certificate claims during the exercise,
"Yes, that's one of the functions...so, of course."
