The domestic container operators operating in the coastal trade, with the direction from Malaysia Shipowners Association (MASA), have reviewed and amended the parameters of the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF).
A statement Tuesday said it is to ensure a fair formula in view of the current operating environment.
It said the operators have agreed that the BAF is only applicable for shipments into Sabah and Sarawak.
It also said all domestic shipments out of Sabah and Sarawak will not be subjected to any BAF.
The shipping freight for shipments out of Sabah and Sarawak will be based on all-in rates.
