POLICE REJECT FAT RELA PERSONNEL

Police have rejected more than two-thirds of the 500 personnel offered by Rela to assist in crime prevention after most were found to be overweight and unfit to undergo police voluntary reserve training.

 “The 500 Rela members were screened based on strict criteria similar to those used for recruiting policemen.

“Besides those who were overweight, the others were rejected because of poor overall presentation and grooming,”

Rela has 580,000 members nationwide and has set a target of having 2.5 million members by 2012.
