PKR comes up with software to detect voter transfers
June 03, 2012: AZMIN also distributed a computerised programme to all its 25 candidates for the Parliamentary seats.
The programme would allow users to trace the movements of voters' identity cards and merge the data from the electoral rolls in 2004, 2008 up till the first quarter of 2011.
"Once the electoral roll is merged, we could detect the movements of the voters, from one locality to another. This is a very big issue nationwide and not only in Sabah.
"This is because the Election Commission have brought out the names of some voters from one area without the voters knowledgeÉto profit Umno," Azmin said.
He said the programme's system managed to detect 492 voters being imported from one parliamentary seat to another from Sulaman to Tuaran.
"This doesn't include other seats. This system is useful for party activists and workers to detect the movement of the voters," he said.
He said this is a nationwide issue and "one of the offences by the Election Commission and should be resolved before the General Elections".
He said the programme, which was introduced in 2008, would also present the party's performance from previous elections from 2008.
Also distributed were the party's flags, caps and flyers.
Meanwhile, PKR youth leader Shamsul said the party will organise a special programme to woo young voters. On another note, he said PKR has not finalised six negotiations with other parties in Sabah.
He said the party is talking to a lot of people includiing NGOs, groups and others, so that it could become a formidable force in Sabah against Umno and Barisan Nasional. He said discussions with Sabah Progressive Party were positive but a consensus had yet to be reached.
Among present was Party's strategist leader, Rafizi Ramli, PKR Women Chief, Zuraida Kamaruddin, Angkatan Muda Keadilan leader, Shamsul Iskandar and other State PKR leaders and members.
