BUMBURING CLEARED THE AIR OVER A SABAHKINI REPORT ABOUT HIM BEING DISAPPOINTED WITH THE BN GOVERNMENT

Bumburing denies being disappointed with BN govt

image PENAMPANG September 24, 2011: United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organization (UPKO) deputy president Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred M. Bumburing yesterday again cleared the air over a Sabahkini report about him being disappointed with the Barisan Nasional (BN) Government.

Bumburing told UPKO leaders and members that what was reported did not reflect what was actually said during the interview with the Sabahkini reporter.

The facts had been mixed up,

he said when officiating at the joint opening ceremony of UPKO Youth, Women and Komulakan movements’ triennial general meeting here yesterday.

The Sabahkini report alleged that Bumburing had decided not to defend his post in the party’s election because he was disappointed with the Malaysian Government for not being honest to Sabahans.

Bumburing explained to the delegates yesterday that what was reported had actually been the reply he gave the reporter about not getting any response from the ministry to the memorandum on issuance of MyKads to non-eligible people.

“After submitting my memorandum, I was told that the Home Ministry needed time to study the memorandum, and to me this reply was not sincere because numerous documents of illegal immigrants have been submitted to the Government.

“This is what I told the reporter but it was taken out of context. The report also said that I was disappointed with the UPKO leadership for not coming out and supporting my move of submitting the memorandum.

“In fact, I was asked for my opinion on the fact that no one from UPKO had followed up after the fact that I had submitted my memorandum was highlighted by the media. I told the reporter that I was disappointed that there was no support… that was what I meant, not that I was disappointed with the party’s leadership,” Bumburing stressed.

He also assured UPKO members and leaders that his loyalty remains with the party so there is no question about it.

“I am still the deputy president of UPKO until the members decide,” he stressed.

    laporan media terutamanya yang bersifat pro kepada mana2 parti politik tidak lari dari menokok tambah kenyataan pihak lain. mungkin benar Bumburing ada mengkritik kerajaan BN, tapi itu tidak bermakna beliau mahu keluar dari parti itu. mungkin kesempatan inilah yang digunakan oleh wartawan dengan menokok tambah kenyataan Bumburing bagi menggambarkan bahawa pemimpin itu berniat mahu meninggalkan upko dan BN..

    Critics doesn't mean Bumbering go against BN. What he concerned is the problem but not a personal attack against BN. Hope they can address the issue and resolve it soon.

    Adakah memorandum tersebut diabaikan? Kerajaan seharus mengkaji kesemua memorandum yang membawa perubahan dan perkembangan. Semoga pihak kerajaan mengambil langkah yang cepat untuk mengkaji memorandum Bumbering demi masalah illegal immigrants.
