FILIPINO WITH FAKE MYKAD IN ELECTORAL ROLL?

Filipino with fake MyKad in electoral roll

3/10/2012: The name of a Filipino in Sabah, who was reportedly jailed in 2010 for holding a fake MyKad, has been detected in the Johor electoral roll.

A pro-Pakatan Rakyat blogger, writing under the pseudonym ‘Milosuam’, said he had found a scanned news report by Sabah-based Daily Express dated Sept 21, 2010, in the news archives of the National Registration Department (NRD).

image The report, said to have been published in both Daily Express and its Malay edition Harian Ekspres, is headlined ‘Fake MyKad: Filipino jailed’.

It states that the Kota Kinabalu Magistrate's Court had sentenced a 43-year-old Filipino to a year's jail for using a fake MyKad on Sept 20, 2010.

“Samsul Salleh, of Kg Likas here, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Cindy McJuce Balitus to using the document bearing the serial number 670110-12-5035 under his own name,” reads the report.

“Police arrested Samsul at 5.46pm on Sept 12 this year at Centre Point Sabah after checking the document.”

capture-20121004-082945-crop A search with the Election Commission’s (EC) online verification system using that MyKad number shows that a voter with the same name - Samsul Salleh - is eligible to vote in the state constituency of Permas, which is under Pasir Gudang parliamentary seat in Johor.

EC 'will check'

Both the Daily Express report and Samsul’s record were available online this morning when checked.

Asked to comment, EC deputy chairperson Wan Ahmad Wan Omar (right) said the commission “will certainly investigate it”.

This finding inevitably raises the question, again, of how a foreigner with a forged MyKad has managed to evade the scrutiny of both the NRD and the EC in getting himself registered as a voter.

The EC has always insisted that only eligible citizens whose personal details are recorded in the NRD database are able to register as voters.

In June, the authorities had busted a fake MyKad syndicate in Sabah and arrested 19 individuals including a NRD officer.

    A report May 2012,

    A total of 303 immigrants were rounded-up by the FSTF during an "Ops Tanduk' held in Keningau, 94 were rounded up and brought to our Filtration Centre in Bingkor. Some 74 were identified as illegal immigrants and sent to the Rumah Merah in Papar.

    Henrynus reminded (PBS secretary general ) :

    “Security issues related to the huge presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah are matters close to the hearts of the people of Sabah and have been and would always be raised by their political leaders to remind the federal government of their security obligations to Sabah,”

    PBS will never let Sabah being overwhelming with the PTIs!!!

    Henrynus also said that the setting up of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on the huge presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah underscored the deep concerns and commitment of the BN government to the security and future well-being of the people of Sabah.

    The RCI will be started the investigation effective sep 21, 2012.

    'Pertubuhan Ikatan Usahawan Kecil dan Sederhana Malaysia (Ikhlas) hari ini menyeru pihak berkuasa memandang serius isu golongan peniaga warga asing yang memiliki MyKad palsu khususnya di Lembah Klang.'

    Nampaknya, bukan di Sabah saja masalah peniaga warga asing ni berlaku.

      Isu ini telah berlarutan dan ia terjadi kerana ada sindiket yang mengeluarkan MyKad palsu kepada pendatang asing sehingga memudahkan mereka melakukan pelbagai urusan perniagaan.

      Kerajaan telah cuba sedaya upaya untuk membanteras sindiket menjual MYkad dan pasport.. namun masih juga ada sebilangan rakyat yang telalu mementingkan wang dan tidak lagi mengikuti undang-undang.

    Cleaning the electoral roll was still being carried out and the Malaysian Microelectronic System Institute (MIMOS) had found dubious voter names in the roll.
