Bumburing urges Akjan to explain meaning of words
KOTA KINABALU Dec 21, 2011: United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organization (Upko) deputy president Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Bumburing has urged Pekida Sabah chairman Datu Mohd Akjan Ali Mohammad to make clear the latter’s recent statement.
Bumburing, who is also Angkatan Amanah Merdeka Malaysia (Amanah) deputy president, said Akjan should explain what he meant by the words “backfire,” “bad intention,” “selfish and politically motivated,” and “political spins of certain politicians” in his statement objecting to the proposal for a Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants.
He also demanded to know which “ethnic group” Akjan is referring to which the latter in his opinion “have more right than the other ethnic” group.
Akjan, the Tuaran Member of Parliament, said portrayed a confused mind when he issued the statement as the 26 ethnic groups which he mentioned (Suluk, Bajau, Kadazandusun, Murut, Rungus and other ethnic races) are automatic citizens of Malaysia and don’t need to apply for citizenship qualification.
“We are not in any way questioning the granting of citizenship to any individuals from any country to be granted Malaysian citizenship so long as they have fulfilled the criteria and other conditions for eligibility.
“We are ONLY concerned with people who have been given citizenship through dubious means as this is the only reason for the sudden population increase in Sabah in such a short period of time defying any logical birthrate explanation.
“I am personally sadden by the arrogant and audacious statement coming from a person who claim to be citizen of this country and yet declared himself as the Sultan of another country,” Bumburing said adding that he had personally handed over to the Home Ministry a memorandum urging the Federal Government to nullify all Malaysian ICs given under questionable circumstances.
The said memorandum contained evidences of ICs given to unqualified persons through dubious means, Bumburing pointed out.
And for someone to come forward with a statement calling on the Federal Government to disregard what is factually a legitimate request coming from every section of the Sabah people and from both side of the political divide is indeed a blatant disrespect towards the wishes of the people of Sabah, he stressed.
Only an individual with a hidden agenda, would go against the wishes of the ethnic majority such is the case now. As such, we demand an explanation from Akjan as to why was he detained under the ISA, Bumburing added.
“We also demand a detail explanation from Akjan on what he meant by labeling the call for RCI as something that would “backfire” and as well having “bad intention,” “selfish and politically motivated” and “political spins of certain politician to misled certain ethnic group to think they have more right the the other ethnic group.”
“There exist certain element of threat in that statement insinuating a situation that would lead to uncertainties and chaos and I urge Akjan to withdraw that particular statement that he made. Along this line, I urge the people of Sabah not to be intimidated by such irresponsible statement.
He was of the opinion that any person who disagrees with the setting up of RCI is in fact the one with the “bad intention, selfish and politically motivated.”
“We all acknowledge that every ethnic group in Sabah or Malaysia for that matter are equal as guaranteed in the Federal Constitution. I strongly support the principles that every citizen of this country is equal in status and in their right as citizens.
“The only people who would not have the same equal status as the bona fide citizens are the foreigners who must come into the country legally and abide by the laws of the country while they are here.
“I therefore call upon every Malaysian citizens in Sabah to be united together to safeguard and protect and defend the sovereignty and security of the country and the State of Sabah from any negative elements that would destroy the peace and harmony we have inherited from our forefathers; the same peace and harmony should we pass on to our next generation for them to continue this noble heritage,” he said.

“Akjan is playing with fire by telling those who called for the RCI to take cue from the many cases of racial tension and unrest in other countries when certain ethnic groups try to deny the rights of other groups,”
Akjan has no locus standi to question the call for the setting up the RCI since he has earlier declared himself as the 33rd Sultan of Sulu Sultanate, in a controversial ceremony conducted in his residence in Kg Likas here, in February this year.
“In fact he should be deported immediately as he has no place in Sabah,”

Datu Akjan had been incriminated in a paper written by Hj Jabar Khan Napi on 10hb June 2007 entitled “Kehadiran Pendatang Asing di Negeri Sabah dan di Anugerahkan Kad Pengenalan Malaysia Setaraf Bumiputra”.
“Akjan’s objection to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the illegal immigrants is therefore understandable. He is now making the Federal Constitution on citizenship looks so simple.
“On the other hand, Part III on supplementary provisions relating to citizenship of the Federal Constitution stated that it is the duty of the Minister to compile and maintain (a) a register of citizens by registration and (b) a register of citizens by naturalisation and (c) a register of persons to whom certificates have been issued under Clause (1) of Article 30.
“We certainly like to see these registrars and see who are being given citizenships,”

Akjan should resign from post, says PBRS Youth
Akjan's objection to the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in the Sabah was as though he was supporting those responsible in issuing MyKads to foreigners through fraudulent means.
The setting up of the RCI would not hurt foreigners who had obtained the MyKad legally, unless they acquired it through the "Projek IC",

PKR Youth to lodge police report against Akjan
“the RCI is to prevent all the wrongdoings which have been ongoing and uncontrolled.”
“I urge the people of Sabah regardless of race, religion or political background, to come forward and show their support to the Sabahans’ demand for an RCI and reject outright Akjan’s statements by lodging a police report on 21 Dec (today) at 12 noon at the IPD KK. Please show your concern and respect the real Malaysians and Sabahans,”
“Akjan is portraying himself to be a hero to both Malaysia and The Philippines and to benefit from the havoc he has created,”
“I like to question Akjan, is he a Malaysian or a Filipino citizen? He cannot be a Malaysian because he has self-proclaimed himself to be the ‘sultan of Sulu’.”
BalasPadamabsolutely not M'sian. B'coz he is Sultan Sulu. Sabah don't have sultan just TYT.
BalasPadamAdakah Akjan layak menjadi pengerusi PEKIDA? sedangkan kewarganegaraan dia diragui umum.
BalasPadamIt does not really matter where he is orginally from but it he is a Sabahan then he has to act as one and protect the interest of Sabahan.
BalasPadamUnity is strength !! Protect our land for the next generation.
BalasPadamIni macam pun ada..
BalasPadamLet's look at his good works..
BalasPadamhes a conman.
BalasPadamAkjan should be ban from sabah forever after the incident where he proudly make himself into the sultan of sulu.. like seriously wtf.
BalasPadamAkjan should be ashamed of himself. RCI should definitely be set up in sabah to get rid of all those pts especially akjan.
BalasPadamhow come this kind of person still be trusted?
BalasPadamhe has no right to talk about RCI. He was involved in the issuance of Malaysian documents to illegal immigrants. He was detained under ISA. He admitted himself as Sultan Sulu. Maybe he is not a Malaysian.
BalasPadamKalau dia Malaysian sekalipun, jangan2 melalui projek ic juga. Itulah dia menentang RCI.
BalasPadamHe is indeed a damn Philippines's man who supposed to stay forever in Tawi tawi.
BalasPadamOH MY GOSH
BalasPadamkira pihak kerajaan ataupun pembangkang walaupun selepas PRU-13 nanti
BalasPadamBuat siasatan jika ingin tahu jawapannya.
BalasPadamAkjan is taking order from someone by doing such?
BalasPadamHe is not from Malaysia thus not a Malaysian.
BalasPadamJust make further investigation on Akjan.
BalasPadamSusah dipercayai Akjan mengakui dirinya seorang Sultan.
