Doctor Beheaded By His Bangladeshi Gardener

image(GH) BENTONG, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- A doctor who worked at the Bentong Prison was brutally murdered and his head severed by his gardener, a Bangladeshi, last night.

Pahang CID Chief SAC T. Narenasegaran said from initial investigations police believe the victim, Dr Harjit Singh, 61, was killed at about 8pm last night.

Narenasegaran said the suspect had surrendered himself to the police at 11.40pm last night.

Police believe the victim was resting on an easy chair in the porch of his house near the garden, situated about 50m from the main road in Kampung Sertik near here, when he was attacked from behind.

"We found a parang in the area, believed to be the weapon used by the suspect to sever the victim's head," he told reporters here today, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The victim who has been working on a contract at the Bentong Prison for the past three years was the brother-in-law of Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh.

The suspect who has been working with the victim as a gardener for the past three years, would be remanded until Aug 29, to facilitate investigations.

  6. Memang sukar untuk kita mengawal kes jenayah ini. Tapi kepada jenayah sekali nantikan hukuman yang berat akan dikenakan.
