AKJAN WILL BE PROBE UNDER THE PENAL CODE AND ISA AND WILL FIND OUT HIS MOTIVE – SABAH COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

Akjan under investigation

11th February, 2011 KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating a Malaysian businessman and former ISA detainee, Datu Mohd Akjan Ali Muhammad who recently proclaimed himself as the Sultan of Sulu.

“We will conduct a probe under the Penal Code and ISA,” Sabah Commissioner of Police Datuk Hamza Taib told reporters here yesterday.

He also urged the local and national media to stop publishing articles on Akjan.

To a question, he said: “We want to find out the motive.”

He also said it was up to the relevant authorities including the National Registration Department to decide on Akjan’s Malaysian citizenship.

“There is no Sultan in Sabah except the Head of State,” he pointed out.

Hamza also said that by right, Akjan must relinquish his Malaysian citizenship because a person could not have dual citizenships.

Akjan, reportedly installed himself as the new Sultan of Sulu in a self-styled coronation in Sabah recently.

And, according to Hamza, the matter may provoke anger among the local people as well as Filipinos of Suluk descendants in the state.

    Akjan ni mg patut diambil tindakan tegas, dia bukanlah Sultan Sulu.

    finally, Datuk Hamza had expressed his stand on behalf of the Sabah police to investigate this matter. So, let the police do their job without the intervention of other parties, especially from media.

    prinsip Rukunegara KESETIAAN KEPADA RAJA DAN NEGARA telah diendahkan oleh Akjan..beliau harus ditahan di bawah ISA..lagipun dikatakan beliau mempunyai dua kerakyatan di mana Malaysia tidak membenarkannya.
