People use Facebook to convey grouses to govt
IT seems that Facebook is taking on a new role. The social networking site was mentioned as a tool for the assemblymen to learn about the people’s grouses.
“There are many complaints against the government posted on Facebook. The people are complaining about a lot of things, such as incomplete road projects.
“What made us sad most is that the people think that the failed projects are caused by us the assemblymen. They are saying that the allocation went into our pockets,” Kiulu assemblyman Datuk Louis Rampas pointed out when debating the Supplementary Supply Bill during the State Assembly sitting, yesterday.
Therefore, he called on the relevant bodies, especially the Public Works Department, to be professional and responsible when carrying out their duties.
“I have with me pictures of badly repaired roads in my constituency, with one clearly showing the broken culvert which only lasted about a year since the construction was completed in April last year.
“When you (PWD) are handling a project, such as repair works on roads, please do it properly. I believe since we are using the people’s money for development of the State, we must use it wisely, we have to perform well,” he said.
He pointed out that complaints were not only referred to PWD alone, but to other government agencies as well.
“We do see many complaints against certain departments in Facebook too. So be professional,” he said.
now, the voices of the people is everywhere. there is no reason such complaints did not reach to the govt again. but, even the Facebook is useful in conveying the public complain, you still need to go to the ground..
