KOTA KINABALU: Monday evening saw a simultaneous launch of Alza by Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) nationwide. In the state capital, it was held at its Bundusan showroom.
Scores of people turned up to take a peek at the new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) which was named Alza, a Spanish word for ‘rise’. According to company sources, it had received 2,000 bookings nationwide on the day of its launching.
Its selling price for the standard model starts at RM40,827 on the road (OTR), whereas the premium model at RM48,333 and special edition at RM52,033 with RM55,934 top of the range.
At the price Alza is selling, no compromise on its design, technology and passenger comfort and safety is made. It can carry up to seven passengers but can be configured for space and comfort, with optimum seating height and lower floor. It’s a car one moment and an MPV the next.
Sleek, stylish and dynamic. Compact and yet spacious. It makes for easy maneuvering for parking.
Its multi info display assists drivers to adjust their driving style and to achieve maximum fuel consumption. It provides estimated travelling range, thus giving the driver how much distance he can cover on the fuel in his tank.
Its automatic model can run up to nearly 12 km on a litre of gasoline and manual more than 15 km.
“Building cars People first” is Perodua’s branding. In this respect, it pays attention to little details to make its cars people-friendly. The doors have wider angle swing than most brands for easy exit and entry. This is particularly convenient when carrying elderly or mothers with babies.
From the city to the countryside, Alza makes driving a pleasure.
With superior power to weight ratio, it is engineered to deliver better performance and lower fuel consumption.
The high performance DWT, DOHC with EFI engine delivers better fuel efficiency, smooth pickup and acceleration, plus cleaner gas emission with minimal vibration noise.
With Perodua’s Alza and Proton’s Exora, they will challenge the Japanese brands for market leadership in the MPV segment. The two Malaysian flagships have lowered the price points and increased the value to customers.
