Upko sets up four branches in Perak
The United Pasok Momogun Kadazan-Dusun Murut Organisation (Upko) has gained a foothold in Perak with the signing up of some 2,000 orang asli in four inaugural divisions.
“Pasokmomogun is a word in the Kadazan language that meant ‘sons of the soil’, and I think the orang asli will have no problems relating with that. However we are a party that accepts all nationalities, and we especially welcome the orang asli,”
“However, they seem to have an affinity with us and hopefully they will use this party to present to the government on what they really want,”
“No, that is something far ahead. We will help (in the campaigning)."
Upko president Tan Sri Bernard Dompok

The launch of Perak Upko was a historic milestone that would allow the community to be more active in politics and champion their forgotten rights.
“This is because we feel that our voice, our woes and our struggle are not given much recognition,”
