PUTERI UMNO DELEGATION CALLS ON ROSMAH

PUTRAJAYA, June 23 (Bernama) -- About 40 members of Puteri Umno led by their chief Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin today called on Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the prime minister, at the Sri Satria official residence.

Rosmah and the Puteri Umno members had discussions for almost three hours.

Rosnah said the visit was to, among other things, invite Rosmah to officiate at several programmes organised by Puteri Umno, including one on combating rapes and snatch thefts to be held next month.

It was also to invite Rosmah to be the patron of a fund for victims of violence, she said.

"Puteri Umno also expressed the desire to forge cooperation with Permata Negara of which the wife of the prime minister is the patron," Rosnah told Bernama.

Permata Negara is an early childhood care and education programme.
