1SCHOOL 1CLINIC: SET TIME FRAME FOR IMPLEMENTATION – MASIDI

1School 1Clinic: Set time frame for implementation – Masidi

PENAMPANG September 14, 2012: A deadline for implementation must be set for all good proposals to become realities, and not empty promises to the people, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun.

Good policies must have a time frame for their implementation so that the people would not be left waiting, he said when commenting on the 1School 1Clinic proposal.

Masidi, who was met during the monthly assembly of the ministry and its departments at the Penampang Cultural Centre near here yesterday, described the proposal as good.

On the upcoming Budget 2013, he said he has high hopes particularly with the Malaysia Education Blueprint.

“I am pleased that the contents of the plan include having more allocation to upgrade rural schools in Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.

“Two principles were raised in the plan – access to education and equity in gaining education. These can be achieved when the infrastructures in Sabah and Sarawak are addressed,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the meeting yesterday, Masidi said the staff were also celebrating the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and the Merdeka Day.

He said Sabah has long symbolised the 1Malaysia concept whereby people of various ethnic origins and religions celebrated each other’s religious festivities without question.

“Sabahans have always been tolerant in this respect,” he said.

  2. “Earlier, we said we needed 800 clinics because there are almost 800 schools in the State but it will be impossible to go for every school. So now we concentrate on locations with the largest population. We currently have 100 locations which we are concentrating on, adding it would be implemented phase by phase."- State Health Director Dr Mohd Yusof Ibrahim.
