Illegal immigrants in Sabah numbering about 140,000 in 1978, "but now its more than a million"?

Booted out for raising Sabah's concerns: Lim

Kota Kinabalu July 07, 2011: DAP Advisor Lim Kit Siang said he remembered the illegal immigrants in the State numbering about 140,000 in 1978, "but now its more than a million".

He said he was booted out of the State many times in the course of his concern for the people of Sabah.

In his Kiulu dialogue with the people of Kampung Tombongon, Lim heard the worries and concern of the people over the illegals problem.

According to one villager the demographic scenario in townships such as Inanam, Tamparuli, Telipok and also Kiulu are changing fast with foreigners replacing the locals.

"They are taking over the stalls, taxis and buses and peddling of illegal cigarettes and other merchandise," he said.

"Once we (Pakatan Rakyat) are in Putrajaya we will undo and rectify all these discriminatory policies.

The orange book will be the guideline, he added.

"The Pakatan Rakyat government will address the PTI problem by establishing a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) and not only respect but also restore the spirit of the NCR in Sabah," he said.

In Matunggung, Lim was honoured as the "Wira Rakyat Malaysia".
