A RANAU MINIBUS OPERATOR IS CALLING FOR ACTION AGAINST PIRATE MINIBUS OPERATORS IN THE DISTRICT.

He told Actionline yesterday that the alleged operators have been operating without valid permit. And worse, they charge slightly less hence upsetting the income of the legitimate operators.

“They’re charging much cheaper than us for long distance routes. From Nunuk Ragang to Ranau town they charge RM5 while ours isRM7,” he said.

He lamented however that because of this passengers prefer the pirate minibus operators.

“Our income is at stake and so we hope action can be taken.”

      • Actionline, when contacting the Road Transport Department on the matter, was told that they would act if provided with the registration numbers of vehicles belonging to the alleged pirated minibus operators.
