Sabah has been allocated RM383 million under the Universal Service Provider (USP) Programme to bridge the digital divide.
The programmed will be implemented for five years starting in 2010 and will target the Undeserved Group and disabled at a cost of RM8million, community broadband centre (RM55 million), 14 broadband libraries (RM22 million) and 212 towers for the expansion of cellular coverage (RM297 million).
“In order to ensure that the people in Sabah are not left behind, the addition of cellular towers will be done in stages by the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission,”
