KUALA TERENGGANU, 1st September, 2009: Incompetent chairmen and members of Kampung Development and Security Committees (JKKK) have been advised to resign as they only burden the people.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said he was disappointed that the dates and zamzam water given by the Terengganu government were not distributed properly.
“Some JKKK were found to have taken the dates to mosques and did not distribute them door-to-door as instructed. As such, some people did not receive them,” he said at a breaking fast by Kuala Nerus Member of Parliament Datuk Mohd Nasir Ibrahim Fikri yesterday.
In conjunction with Ramadan this year, the Terengganu government had allocated RM7.8 million for dates and zamzam water for distribution to 300,000 Muslim families in the state.
