“Threats to national security should not be seen as an excuse to restrict freedom of the media in relation to issues of editorial independence and the protection of confidential sources of information,”
“Exorbitant awards in relation to defamation actions will inevitably stifle press freedom and investigative reporting, by instilling a culture of fear in journalists,”
