SIRINGAN SUPPORTS CHIN'S STATEMENT

SIRINGAN GUBAT P179-RANAUKota Kinabalu, April 28, 2009: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Deputy President Datuk Chin Shu Phin Monday won support from a fellow leader of another Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah component who hoped the top leadership will take the matter he had raised seriously.

Ranau Member of Parliament Datuk Siringan Gubat, one of the Vice Presidents of United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko), said he believed Chin was not trying to become a hero as alleged by certain State leaders when he made his controversial statement.

"I believe those people who are doing that are really or truly concerned over the BN integrity and BN Sabah should not ignore it because it is very important," he said, referring to Chin's statement and his party Supreme Council's subsequent stand on the matter.

"But I am not trying to suggest to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman to sack him (Tan) but we should leave it to his wisdom to take the most apt action for the sake of the BN's integrity," said Siringan.

He also believed dissatisfaction over Tan's current position is not only shared among leaders of the other BN component parties because he recalled fellow Sabah MP for Kalabakan Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh, who is also an Umno Sabah senior leader, had raised dissatisfaction over Tan during his debate speech in Parliament.

"I recalled that Datuk Ghapur had raised his dissatisfaction over Tan, who he (Ghapur) said should not remain where he is presently I was there and was listening attentively to him saying it, and it does prove that even among Umno Sabah leaders themselves there is dissatisfaction," said Siringan.

He said the State leaders should also give thought to the main reason SAPP withdrew from the coalition last year.
