“SAYA ANTI PONTENG”

TAMBUNAN: The high incidence of truancy in rural schools has forced a campaign against truancy be introduced.

“The goal of the campaign is to eradicate truancy in school. We want to educate students that acquiring knowledge in schools is more important than anything else.

“We don’t want students who are supposed to be in school diverted elsewhere,” said Tambunan education officer Kaipin Rosmin in expressing hope that parents would play their part.

Students will be given a badge which states “Saya Anti Ponteng” (I am against truancy) to wear on their uniforms at all times.
