Pakistani man remanded to facilitate murder investigations
KOTA KINABALU 27/11/2012: Police remanded a Pakistani man, today, to facilitate investigations into the brutal murder of a teenage girl in Kota Marudu.
On Monday, passers-by stumbled upon the body of 16-year-old Norikoh Saliwa around 12.40pm by the roadside near Kampung Ranau.
It is believed that Norikoh was gang-raped by five men before she was killed and her body thrown on the road.
Acting Kota Marudu police chief Assistant Superintendent Kamaruddin Sulaiman said the suspect, who is also a furniture shop operator, was nabbed around 10am in Pekan Goshen.
Prior to the incident, Norikoh had gone into a furniture shop along with her sister and a cousin. Her body was discovered the next day.
