Two illegals arrested for possessing syabu
KOTA KINABALU August 18, 2012: Police have arrested two illegal immigrants separately for possessing syabu.
Acting city police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun yesterday said the first arrest was made on Monday along the road near Kampung Lokub in Jalan Sulaman.
Jauteh said as police were checking the suspect, they found a plastic packet with white substance believed to be syabu.
Initial police investigation believed the drugs weighing 5.5 grams, had a market price at RM1,650, he said.
In the second case, an illegal immigrant was arrested for possessing five grams of syabu along Jalan Telipok on Tuesday.
Initial police investigation believed the drugs could fetch a market price of RM1,500.
Jauteh said both suspects, who are drug addicts and pushers, had been remanded for investigation under Section 39A(1) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Illegal arrested less than five minutes after stealing handbag
KOTA KINABALU August 18, 2012: Police arrested an illegal immigrant in less than five minutes after he stole a handbag containing RM3,000 at a coffee shop in Hiltop, Luyang here on Monday.
The 28-year-old suspect allegedly snatched the handbag that was left unattended on a table by the coffee shop owner on August 13 around 7.40am.
Acting city police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said a police team on patrol near the area chased and nabbed the suspect in less than five minutes after the incident.
Police recovered the victim’s handbag containing RM3,000 and some personal documents, he told reporters at a press conference at the city police headquarters in Karamunsing here yesterday.
The suspect had been remanded for investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
Jauteh said initial police investigation believed the victim, in her 60s, had left her handbag on a table unattended while preparing to start business for the day.
