Association president threatened for being vocal
KOTA KINABALU August 21, 2012: Sabah Oil and Gas Contractors Association (SOGCA) president Datuk Iskandar Malik has received threatening text messages for being vocal on issues at the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) project in Kimanis.
“I was just doing my part to report what I felt was not right. Some people were not happy with me and sent me a few text messages, calling me names and wanting me to stop talking.
“But I have lodged police reports and submitted copies of the text messages, and I will leave it to them to carry out the investigation,” he said during his Raya open house on Sunday.
Iskandar disclosed that he had yet to receive any news on the outcome of the investigation as of today.
“I have also made an official complaint to Petronas, but nothing has been done to overcome the problems affecting SOGT,” he said.
On another development, Iskandar said the open house allowed him to mingle with family and friends, and foster closer ties with them.
