RANAU 04 Jun 2012: Hanya kerana terlanggar bahu ketika asyik menari di majlis perkahwinan adiknya, seorang lelaki yang juga abang pengantin perempuan maut apabila lehernya ditumbuk menggunakan buku lima oleh seorang tetamu dalam kejadian di Balai Raya Kampung Giring-Giring, di sini, kelmarin.
Sebelum kejadian, mangsa, Rudy Saidi, 35, dan tetamu terbabit yang berusia 16 tahun, menyertai majlis menari itu sebelum mangsa terlanggar bahu dengan remaja terbabit.
Insiden jam 8.30 malam itu menyebabkan pertengkaran antara kedua-duanya sebelum remaja terbabit mengeluarkan buku lima lalu menumbuk leher mangsa sebelum dia rebah.
Mangsa yang dibantu tetamu lain meninggal dunia dalam perjalanan ke Hospital Ranau manakala suspek melarikan diri apabila melihat mangsa tidak sedarkan diri.
Susulan itu, ahli keluarga mangsa membuat laporan di balai polis berhampiran.

Fatal attack on bride’s brother mars wedding reception
SEARCHING FOR EVIDENCE: The suspect being brought by the police to recover the murder weapon believed to have been disposed of after the attack.
RANAU June 4, 2012: A wedding reception held at the Giring-Giring Hall yesterday turned tragic when a 16-year-old attacked the bride’s brother, causing the latter to die of neck injuries.
The victim, identified as Rudi Saidi, 35, died on the way to Ranau Hospital due to serious neck injuries.
The suspect and the victim were believed to be dancing at the reception when the former complained to the victim of bumping him on his shoulders.
An argument ensued and the suspect was believed to have attacked the victim, causing the latter to drop to the floor.
Concerned guests immediately rushed the victim to Ranau Hospital, who died on the way, while the suspect was said to have attempted to flee from the scene.
The victim’s demise prompted the family members to lodge a police report immediately after the incident.
Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Omar Mammah confirmed the incident, saying that a team from the CID in Ranau district police rushed to the scene to investigate.
The suspect was arrested at Kampung Nampasan Lama around 2.30am, he said, adding that the police had also recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
A post-mortem will be conducted and the case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code, for murder.
