Youths told to use internet to gain useful knowledge - Kurup

NABAWAN 15th May, 2012: The youths must make good use of the Internet and not misuse the facility such as to spread lies and make baseless accusations about the BN government.

“Use the Internet to bring positive benefits to yourselves and not use it to attack another person’s character,” said Federal Deputy Minister of Natural Resources & Environment, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup during a gathering with members of the Nabawan SIB Church.

Also present at the event were State Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture & Environment Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin, Nabawan SIB area head Daud Anggau and Nabawan SIB Church chairman Ampalus Robert Sanaron.

“Use the Internet to gain more useful knowledge and avoid non-profitable activities. Don’t abuse the Internet,” said Kurup, who is also the Pensiangan MP and PBRS president.

He said there has been an improvement in the people’s confidence and support towards the BN because the BN government has been fair to all.

Kurup said the opposition is desperate now that it organises demonstrations causing chaos and other countries would think that the Malaysian government is unfair and unjust to its people.

At the event, the Federal Deputy Minister distributed zincs and also announced an allocation amounting RM60,000 for the church office as requested by Ampalus in his speech.

About 300 people attended the event which also saw presentations by youths of Kampung Ranau-Ranau and Kurup handing PBRS membership to 80 people led by Amparus.
