Foreigner chops off local man’s hand in brawl
27th May, 2010 KOTA KINABALU: A local man lost his hand during a brawl with a foreigner in Kampung Lokbonu in Sepanggar on Tuesday.
The 46-year old victim’s left hand was chopped off by the assailant who was armed with a samurai sword in the 7pm brawl.
Deputy City Police Chief Supt Rowell Marong in confirming the incident yesterday said police has launched a manhunt for the assailant.
“We are now looking for the 45-year old suspect who has IMM 13travel document,” he said.
Investigation showed that before the incident, the victim’s son in his 20’s had borrowed a sim card from the assailant. Later when the suspect met the victim’s son to ask for his sim card back, he reportedly went into a rage when told that the card had gone missing and accused the boy’s father of taking it.
Police rushed to the scene after being informed by the public about the fight and took the victim to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where an emergency operation was carried out to re-attach the hand.

And it's all because of a Sim card. Must have something not quite right with the assailant.
