"We already have our officers there, so we will not be sending a special unit to gather facts and figures regarding this matter as our existing officers there will do the job," he said, Thursday.
He said the matter has made a lot of people worried and wanting to find out more, but it is actually normal if people are laid off from their jobs, especially during the economic downturn.
"We will of course be monitoring the matter and see whether they really are Sabahans who are facing difficulty in making a living elsewhere, we will not leave them there to die," he added.
Towards the end, Yee said the Ministry will do all it can to help Sabahans in the peninsula and other places and see what can be done.
Meanwhile, Yee said job centres in the country and the State have been around for quite some time but yet people do not seem keen to make use of the services provided there to look for jobs.
"I'm surprised why people are not using the job centre to look for jobs, it's safe and reliable, and is a good meeting point for employers and employees alike," he stated.
He encouraged people to make use of job centres available here.
