"MY LAST MEMORY OF MY WIFE AND DAUGHTERS WAS SEEING THEM DYING IN FRONT OF MY VERY EYES.”

"I fought the rough sea and fatigue to save my family. But as fate would have it, it was not enough to save them,"

"At that time, I knew what was going to happen should there be no one coming to rescue us. I was ready for death.

"My last memory of my wife and daughters was seeing them dying in front of my very eyes. I could no longer do anything but pray and I told the others to do the same,"

"Everything happened so fast. All I could think was to rescue my family and children aged below 15. Most of the passengers did not know how to swim.

"I pulled my daughters, tied them to the boat and did the same to others. I tried to save my wife. She was resting in the boat cabin with several others before the boat capsized.

"I kept diving into the water trying to pull my wife out to the surface but each time the waves kept crashing at us causing me to lose my grip on her until slowly the waves drifted us as well as other passengers apart,"

Former Berjaya era nominated assemblyman, Yahya Othman
