TURUN PADANG FROM TIME TO TIME: TAWFIK

Tawau, May 14, 2009: Visitation programmes to villages here to identify infrastructure problems will be held from time to time to ensure all community projects meet the targeted specifications and schedule.

Assistant Finance Minister, Datuk Tawfik Abu Bakar Titingan, said the visits would be jointly carried out with government agencies so that all problems could be solved.

"This also includes leaders and senior government officers who will turun padang and see for themselves the actual situation," he said while heading a group on a visit to Sungai Burung Mas Mas and Oil Palm Smallholders Scheme in Ulu Kalumpang, here.

Also present were Permanent Secretary to the Finance Ministry, Datuk Mohd Yusof Kassim, Tawau Municipal Council Deputy President, Tai Yun Wu, and other government officers.

After the visit, Tawfiq said the Public Works Department would help repair the road for the smallholders and also in building a bridge.
