KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- The Malays can be champions in any field if they put greater emphasis on time management, Bernama Chairman Datuk Seri Annuar Zaini said.
"One weakness in the Malay culture is time management. So long as we don't strive to change this, it will give justification as to why the objective of the New Economic Policy cannot be achieved in 30 years.
"This is because the element of time is not there to pressure us to achieve the objective... we tend to think that we have some kind of extra time," he said when closing the Second Malay Cultural Congress here Tuesday.
Annuar said the lack of good time management had become a norm rather than an exception.
He said that so long as the Malays did not observe strict time management, it would be difficult for them to become world champions.
"Even in football, you have to score within 90 minutes," he said.
