THE MARCH 8, 2008 WATERSHED: WHAT THE POLITICIANS SAY

insidepix1Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad: “The general election was a wake up call for us and we have all moved into higher gear.”

All that we have done are being overshadowed by the politicking that is going on. People are more interested in the politicking and not on the good things that have been taking place around them.

rafidah-aziz_2 Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz: “Individuals who had not performed affected BN in the last general election. The opposition took advantage of that to gain support.”

“It is not enough if policy statements are made at the federal level no matter how impressive they sound. Small matters, like a slip road or a drain to channel rain water in a village, is a big matter as far as the village people are concerned.

“It should be seen happening at the local grassroots level. MPs should be looking into the people's needs. When people are not happy with BN and someone else comes with a lot of promises, people tend to be impressed.

n_pg10karpal Karpal Singh: “Fundamentally PR is getting stronger. We are being "given the opportunity" by BN to get stronger.”

“Furthermore BN's blunders are driving the people's support away from the coalition.“

p030Mohamed Apandi Mohamad: “PEOPLE support Pakatan Rakyat because there are many MPs like me who may have lost in the general election but have not ignored the people.”

“I still visit the people of my constituency and help them whenever I can.”
