Politicians' family members must also appear 'clean'
KUALA LUMPUR 11/12/2012: It is not sufficient for politicians to be clean, as their family members must project a clean image, too.
Former Kedah Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) chairman Zamil Ibrahim said the son of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, Mohamad Nedim Nazri, had an obligation to avoid controversy.
"He (Nedim) is mature enough to know that his father is a prominent figure in the government.
"The behaviour of family members is equally important to a politician's career," he said yesterday.
He was commenting on a recent accusation of Nedim using a Hummer (costing nearly RM500,000) vehicle owned by controversial timber tycoon Michael Chia.
