PM due in Sabah for two-day visit

KOTA KINABALU 11/10/2012: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to make a two-day working visit to Sabah, which includes Penampang, Kundasang and Kudat, this weekend, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

Najib is expected to arrive here on October 13 and proceed to Penampang to launch a new bridge in Inobong as well as perform the ground-breaking ceremony for the Institut Latihan Mahkamah Anak Negeri (ILMAN) at the same venue, Musa told a press conference after chairing the State Cabinet meeting at Wisma Innoprise here yesterday.

He said Najib will then travel to Kundasang to attend a meet the people event at Dewan Kinabalu in Kinabalu National Park.

“On Sunday, October 14, the Prime Minister is expected to flag off the 26th Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon before going to Kudat to officiate at the ‘Jelajah Janji Ditepati’ programme.

“Najib will also be going on walkabouts in Kundasang and Kudat,” Musa said, adding that he expects a huge turnout at both meet the people programmes in Kundasang and Kudat.

The Chief Minister also announced the implementation of the first ever ‘Program Rimbunan Kaseh’ in Kampung Saga Saga, Membakut.

The programme is a sustainable development plan for the rural area and will include housing, basic infrastructure and various high yield agricultural activities as well as a community centre for the local community, he said.

Musa said the 30-acre land for the project belongs to SLDB and will be developed by Iris Corporation Berhad, a Kuala Lumpur-based company.

Asked to comment on the peace agreement between the Philippine Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Musa said it is a good sign of the impeding peace in Southern Philippines.

“When there is peace in Southern Philippines, the people will be able to live in peace and harmony,” he said.
