UNEMPLOYED INDONESIAN MAN CAUGHT WITH THE FAKE IDENTITY CARD IN HIS POSSESSION

Unemployed Indonesian man caught with the fake identity card in his possession

KOTA KINABALU March 17, 2012: In a separate case, an unemployed Indonesian man, who is now serving sentence for a cheating conviction, received another one year and three months?jail term for possessing a fake MyKad.

Reduan Ali, 29, admitted to a charge framed under Section 25 (1) (e) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 which carries a maximum jail of three years, or a fine of between RM3,000 and RM20,000, upon conviction.

Prosecuting officer Inspector Syahrin Ali told the court that the accused was caught with the fake identity card in his possession at Taman Likas Jaya, Jalan Tuaran on Feb 12.

Charles ordered Reduan’s jail sentence to run after the latter’s current jail term.

In mitigation, the accused pleaded for a lenient sentence.

Syahrin replied that Sabah did not need such people to be in the State and urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence on the accused.

He pointed out that the accused had been convicted of cheating and was sentenced to one year jail plus a RM500 fine, in default, 30 days jails.

Reduan was also ordered to be referred to the Immigration Department after serving sentence for further action.

Two engineers ‘robbed’ of cash, cellphones by accomplice of prostitutes

KOTA KINABALU March 17, 2012: Two engineers from Peninsular Malaysia who went looking for prostitutes lost their cellphones and cash to the prostitutes?accomplice at a hotel in Kampung Air here.

The incident allegedly took place around 7.45pm on Tuesday when the prostitutes?accomplice entered the rented rooms that were paid for by the victims through a secret door and stole the items in the victims?trousers.

It is believed that prior to the incident, the victims had rented the two rooms in Kampung Air for RM10 each and each had paid RM60 for the sex service.

While they were in bed with the prostitutes, the accomplice stole their personal items.

A couple of minutes later, a man then knocked on the rooms’ doors telling the victims that the police would be raiding the premises.

The victims only released they have been robbed after leaving the rented rooms in a hurry.

Kastam rampas rokok hampir RM100,000

KOTA KINABALU March 17, 2012: Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) Sabah merampas sejumlah 5,300 bungkus rokok tiruan dan seludup pelbagai jenama bernilai hampir RM100,000 dalam satu operasi khas yang dijalankan di kawasan Sinsuran dekat sini baru-baru ini.

Pengarah Kastam Sabah, Janathan Kandok, berkata dalam serbuan pada Khamis yang dilakukan oleh 11 pegawai penguatkuasa kastam cawangan marin itu, kebanyakan rokok yang dirampas disembunyikan di dalam bilik-bilik kosong selain disembunyikan di atas siling dan juga dalam tilam.

“Penjual rokok tiruan atau seludup ini kebanyakannya menyewa satu bilik khas tetapi bukan untuk ditinggal sebaliknya untuk menyimpan stok-stok rokok terbabit.

“Selain itu, beberapa bungkus rokok yang disembunyikan di atas siling bilik sewa dan juga di dalam tilam turut berjaya dijumpai, bagaimanapun tiada tangkapan dibuat memandangkan ketika serbuan tiada penghuni di dalam bilik-bilik terbabit,” katanya dalam sidang media di Ibu Pejabat JKDM Sabah dekat sini kelmarin.

Menurutnya, antara jenama rokok yang berjaya dirampas termasuklah Apache, GG Surya, LA Menthol Lights, Astro, Champion, Era, Premium, Marlboro, dan Premiro.

Sementara itu, Janathan mengingatkan kepada orang awam agar tidak membeli, menyimpan atau menggunakan rokok tiruan serta yang belum diluluskan Kastam.

41 foreign women detained in raids on reflexology and spa centres

KOTA KINABALU 16th March, 2012: Immigration Department enforcement officers have detained 41 foreign women including four Reflexology and Spa operators during a month-long blitz in major districts in Sabah.

Eighty immigration officers raided some 109 reflexology and spa premises from January 30 until February 29.

State Immigration Department director, Hj Mohammad Mentek, when contacted by New Sabah Times yesterday said, Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 74 premises raided.

He disclosed that of the 37 foreign women detained for committing various offences under the Immigration Regulations, 27 were Filipinas, nine Indonesians and one Thai.

“Seventeen of them were detained under Section 39 (b) of Immigration Act 1959/1963 for abusing conditions of the pass and the rest under Section 6 (1) (c) on suspicion of possessing dubious documents,” said Mohammad.

He said the four reflexology operators were detained to facilitate investigation on suspicion of harbouring foreigners without a proper work pass.

Akibat selisih faham, dua lelaki maut ditikam rakan sendiri

TAWAU 15th March, 2012: Hanya kerana perselisihan faham, dua lelaki berusia 30 dan 39 tahun maut setelah ditikam oleh rakan mereka sendiri, dalam dua kes pembunuhan berasingan yang berlaku di daerah ini, pada Isnin dan Selasa lepas.

Ketua Polis Daerah Tawau, ACP Ibrahim Chin (gambar) berkata, kes pertama melibatkan kematian seorang lelaki Bugis, 30, yang ditikam oleh rakannya yang juga seorang lelaki Bugis, 31, di sebuah rumah di Kg. Apas Parit, Tawau.

Katanya, kejadian yang berlaku pada kira-kira jam 4 petang itu dipercayai berpunca dari satu perselisihan faham di antara kedua-dua individu terlibat yang bekerja sebagai penanam sayur.

Ujarnya, sebaik kejadian itu, suspek telah cuba melarikan diri tetapi berjaya ditangkap di kawasan bandar, dalam tempoh kira-kira 4 jam selepas kejadian itu.

Kedua-dua mangsa katanya adalah warga Indonesia dan ketika ini pihak polis masih menjalankan siasatan lanjut kes itu di bawah Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan.

  5. The genuine Indonicians are good and hardworking workers. Malaysia still need them to be around bec the locals are not willing to do a lot of work.

    Perhaps the immirgation department and the police department to improve the control on the influx of foreigners

    1. The Immigration Department needs to be more strict in controlling the in-flow of foreign workers so that only those with good records are allowed to enter to prevent the crime rates from going up.
