Ranau, May 05, 2009: MALAYSIAN Treasury Secretary-General, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah (3rd left), gently holds a local fish known as "Pelian" together with Ranau Tagal Chairman, Jeffrin Majangki (2nd left), at a Tagal river of Sg Moroli at Kg Luanti Baru, about 19km from Ranau township.
Aziz was leading a delegation from the Finance Ministry for a four-day working visit to the East Coast of Sabah.
While on their journey to Lahad Datu, Semporna and Tawau, he spared some time to witness the unique school of Pelian fish, believed could massage the visitors when they swim or soak their feet in the river.
Jeffrin also briefed Aziz on the benefits of the Tagal system and the available facilities in the village that are rearing the tame fish as a tourist attraction.
Paginatan Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Ebin, who is also the Industrial Development Minister, greeted Aziz and entourage upon their arrival at the village. Among those present were State Secretary Datuk Sukarti Wakiman and officers from the Unit of Implementation and Coordination of the Finance Ministry.
