Reps Told To Improve Public Relations
SEREMBAN: All Barisan Nasional assemblymen in the state must visit at least one village or housing estate in a week to foster better relations between the people and the government, and enhance BN's image in the eyes of the public.
"They must make it a point to attend kenduri, weddings and perform prayers at the local surau or mosque in their constituencies.” said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan
"This way, the assemblymen will get better acquainted with problems in the area and can work closely with the people to overcome it,".
BN's loss in the Bukit Gantang parliamentary and Bukit Selambau state by-elections should be seen as a valuable lesson, especially by all BN members of parliament and assemblymen.
He said among the reasons for the loss was the people's negative perception of BN.
"This perception is something we must work hard to overcome. It is immaterial whether this is true or false.
"What is important is a large portion of people seem to believe in it and we must end this negativity."
He added that BN's loss in the two by-elections should not be demoralising, but serve as an eye-opener that there is still plenty to be done and every one must give their best.
