KOTA KINABALU September 15, 2012: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Penampang is shocked and wants to know the truth of a news report by Reuters that Iran has been hiding oil in Labuan.
Its division chief, Darell Leiking in a statement last night, said Malaysia may face trouble besides its political troubles if the report is true.
“As we welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton and whilst we in PKR welcome yet another movement for change in Labuan’s political landscape tommorow (today) with the entry of several personalities, including corporate figure Tan Sri Ibrahim Menudin, a seemingly quite unreported news has revealed that Labuan is not all what it seems and hence change must happen now throughout the nation.
“A dear friend had revealed to me of a new Malaysian scandal exposed in a news report by Reuters which had revealed that Malaysia may face some trouble besides its political troubles. The news media exposed that Iran has been hiding oil in our tiny Labuan thus probably now causing us a huge international incident,” he said.
Leiking added PKR Penampang is praying that the news is not true but the authorities have to answer to its citizens and ensure that the people are safe and have not breached any United Nations sanction.
“Imagine us being at the centre of an international scandal,” he said.
