“I understand that the school has already had three cases (of suspected gambling) this year,”
“Not all of the students who gamble use playing cards.
“If they are bent on gambling, there are so many ways and sometimes, it is hard to control and detect (the activity),” he said, adding that some students even bet on the weather.
“We ask for the cooperation of the community and also thank all those who have taken the effort to come forward, be it from the backbenchers or elected representatives from the Opposition,”
Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong made the appeal to the public following a case in Johor where several students were caught gambling on school grounds.
